liar liar
Ok, I'll confess, Hijinx Comics isn't actually 25 years old. I'm a scurrilous wanna-be trying to fake a legacy. Many thanks to another Bay Area comic retailer for pointing this fact out in his latest newsletter. I would mention his name, but since he didn't have the courtesy to do the same I'll just post an excerpt from his latest pompous email newsletter:

July will mark my 25th anniversary of comics retailing.
We've had no buyouts or name changes here at XXX's Comics. We didn't close up for a while and then start again. It's been XXX's Comics for the whole 25 years. Others have come and gone, but XXX's Comics remains.
I get a chuckle out of some of my friends that own comic book shops that they recently bought. They are new owners with new business names, yet they are still celebrating a big anniversary. It seems to me that if you want to celebrate 25 years of "Acme Comics", there should have been an Acme comics for 25 years, but perhaps I'm a stickler.

Thanks again XXX, for calling me out on my heinous misrepresentations. I'm a bad man.

tell the world what we're Worth to you
Hey folks, do the world a favor and tell them what you think of Hijinx Comics
by clicking here and then click on the link that says "Write a review". I'm not asking you to lie or shill for us, but if you like shopping here you might help steer some other comic lovers in the right direction, and that's good karma. Mary Worth thinks it's the right thing to do, and she knows better than everyone! Thanks in advance!

great Scott!
After looking over his schedule again, Scott McCloud realized that he had no public appearances at all scheduled for the south bay area, only gigs at private companies. Being the man of the people that he is, Scott decided that his one and only public appearance will be an informal meet & greet here at Hijinx Comics!
I was really bummed when he told me he couldn't make it, and now I'm ultra excited about finally getting him inside the store for my customers to meet (and greet, I guess). So keep watching this space, and keep Monday, August 20th at 7:30pm free, because that's our window for meeting (and greeting) Scott!
